Kate Ceeney – British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and British Assication of Behavioural Cognitive Therapy (BABCP) Accredited Psychotherapist

I am a registered psychotherapist and counsellor, qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Clinical Supervision and Integrative Psychotherapy.  I am accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Association of Behaviour and Cognitive Therapy (BABCP). I am also a UK Registered Independent Counsellor (UKRCP).

I work in an integrative way, which means that I use theories and concepts from different therapeutic models. I believe that psychological problems are seldom caused by just one source or situation, and that therefore a variety of strategies may be useful for achieving the desired outcome.

I am also very committed to client care, offering a holistic, accessible and discreet therapeutic service to my clients.

Experience:

I am an experienced and qualified practitioner and I have worked within the counselling field since 2000.

I have worked in different settings with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. In addition to private practice, I have worked aas a psychotherapist within the NHS, in primary and secondary education, and in other health care settings and voluntary organisations, such as bereavement, sexual health, and a rape and sexual assault service.

The typical issues that draw people to therapy are depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, abuse, sexuality, sexual problems, physical illness/pain, bereavement/loss, low self-esteem, phobias, problems at work/college/school, stress, suicidal feelings, isolation, crisis, infertility/miscarriage, parenting, anger, self-loathing, feelings of failure, feeling wrong and bad, and economic difficulties.  I am experienced in working with each of these.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and, as such, I am bound by its Ethical Framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy. I am supervised by a qualified clinical supervisor and have a current CRB certificate certifying me as suitable for working with vulnerable children and adults.

In addition to working as a psychotherapist, I also offer clinical supervision to other psychotherapists as well as work-life balance consultation to other professionals.
